One of London’s tradition-bound law schools is found at The Temple. Two of its buildings were designed by Elizabeth Wilbraham: the brick Residence of the Master of the Temple, and the Cloisters Building (which is really a dormitory for the law students). Both were badly damaged in the Second World War and now have somewhat different appearances.
A third of her Temple buildings is the Temple Bar, a gateway which used to stand across the Strand in front of the Temple, but has now been re-erected next to Saint Paul’s Cathedral.
